  • If this project involved dialogue that was set outside, wouldn't it be smart to record voice-overs that were outside? The voices are so flat and monotone in terms of distance from the microphone. You need to make the voices 3 dimensional, bud!

  • @mark84j You could record it in an outside environment but that would be an uncontrolled environment. Part of assessing how good a sound designer is, is how creative they can be in their methods of achieving certian sounds. In this case creating dialogue in a controlled environment (studio) and adding effects after to create the illusion that the voices take place in a different environment. The success of the technique can be good or bad, especially with the level of dialogue involved in it.
