You should read about the 29 companies that spend millions in lobbying yet pay no taxes. A reporter from Forbes wrote the article. Those people that have Verizion have a phone in which the company makes $32 billion in profits yet pays no taxes.

Carlin was just an intelligent jester the rich loved using. The joke is that people thought he was for them, when he clearly said many times over during his career: I don't give a shit about people. Or I don't give a fuck, it's one of those two colorful expressions.

I'd have to say yeah, considering how there are still FM/AM stations. He could have gone satellite, or start a publishing company since he liked to write. If he wanted to continue doing stand up, he could have created his own website and promote himself that way--cut out as many middlemen as possible. Point is that considering his stature, the man had so many options to get his message across.

I feel bad for anyone who idolizes him-- HBO used him to make us look bad. I think GC knew that.
