frames cycle

An interactive project will be developed to record a continuous sequential movement of the participant during a certain period of time. Their silhouette is extracted and display on the screen. Frames will be accumulated with different black silhouette which simulate the process and attitude towards life cycle. In the last frame, the captured silhouettes will be decomposed and fade out gradually, the screen will be cleared and the cycle restarts again.
This project is to simulate the experience of cycle and to explore our body boundary through embodiment interaction between human body and computer response.

A theme base story normally exists in movie with narrative. Audience able to get the message from the director through the story-line in an expressive way and it undulates through different human sense of visual and audio.
By using interactive medium, it allows real-time experiencing and interaction that create a learning cycle, through the feedback loop with user input and computer output, it provides a playful experience and encourage the use of entire body as interaction.
People often say life is like a series of frames on how you enjoy the process. There are different types of person who choose their own path in life in whatever ways such as active, playful or being alone. When we come to the end point in life, our body decomposes. It seems like the process of life is going through the stage from born to die and there is the existence of time cycle of past, present and future. From religious point of view, this is the example of rebirth and everything around us as the result of it and we humans are constantly going through cycles of rebirth in formation, transformation and decomposition. Within the cycle of rebirth, death is the beginning of another existence.
Besides, the body from the participant becomes a means of artistic creation. Through their recognition with their own body shape, their response may react differently. The pattern shown on the screen can be viewed as aesthetic creation, and reflection on what they perceive.
