I do not know where you are from nor do I care; however, I am Cuban and I lived under communism and i can tell you it is an experience i would not wish upon any other human being. To claim that Castro is not a dictator after 52 years of a single party monopoly is naive and near sighted. You are entitled to your opinion- though as misguided as it may be.

Fidel is not a dictator. Dictators don't teach the poor literacy. Dictators don't arm the people from the threat of invasion. Dictators don't provide free medical care. Dictators don't ration the food products among the people. Dictators don't cut off diplomatic ties with Israel over the mistreatment of Palestinians. Dictators don't organize teams of doctors to go and provide free medical care to the poor in third world countries. If Castro is a Dictator then he is the strangest one there is.

He received trillions of dollars from the former USSR and he is receiving billions from chavez now. He is a tyrant and tyrants are oppressors, he is afraid of his people more than he is afraid of USA. He has ruined Cuba, allows no free press, no political party but his, no freedom of speech. @auxhernandez81 The embargo is a mirage. Come to Miami and see the thousands of Cuban exiles taking goods of all kind to the island on any given day. American companies apply for permits and are allowed to do business with Cuba. Castro has used the embargo as an excuse to blame his failed policies on the U.S. Most Cuban exiles I know would like to see the embargo lifted. If that ever happens, Castro will not have any more excuses.
