Steve Van Kessel wrote this tribute song about Orillia entitled Proud To Call Home. It was produced by Lance Anderson and featured many local musicians.

The song was used and continues to be used by the City of Orillia as the musical backdrop for a series of television ads used to promote Orillia and its calendar of events. The performance video was directed and photographed by Darcy Hoover, Marketing Manager for the Orillia Culture and Heritage Department.

As a person raised in Orillia this song speaks volumes! Orillia has much to offer and a lot more to come. Steve, by you creating this song it will (has) sparked a positve outlook on our wonderful city. As for the negative feedback recieved by those few, not to worry the majority rules. Those few individuals are only looking in there own backyard and at the little effort that they provide.
