  • Hey Guys,

Question - why do you grab to stuff the knife when their trying to stab toward the body instead of deflecting (with the U defence you guys utilize), can't the always pull back to rechamber . . . and won't it cut your hand? I value what you guys teach and just want to understand why you do that (maybe its to keep it simple?) I hope that makes sense.

  • There are two parts to answer your question. First, what your actually seeing is based off when the energy of the blade is moving forward. The "U" drill is based off of the blade moving in a lateral path, making it easy to deflect the motion, but when the blades energy moves straight in at a high speed it you need to stop it and move your body to secure it.

Second, This course is for teaching Police, and we only get a few hours with them. Not enough to perfect skilled motion , Keep it simple
