@bluegrasssingingman telluride started as among other things, a newgrass festival, started pretty much with new grass revival after walnut fest in the 70s, ie sam bush, curtis burch, etc.. not a gospel bbq. not bean blossom at all
-
@bluegrasssingingman Oh but you are not bashing anyone right?
-
yep your right your not bashing anyone. tell you what. come to Grey Fox and Telluride. and i will wave to you from the stage.

and not to mention this was the Band Contest. The Hillbenders had only been a band for about a year and a half at this point. so yea. no kidding we dont have any fans in an audience in Colorado. We're from Missouri.

Wasn't that a Bluegrass fest? Hillbenders was in a band comp, And didn't play not one Bluegrass Song. What started this someone called a dorbro a steel, and I said it was a dobro. someone said it was tuned like a steel, and I said then play a steel and be a country band, because Hillbenders are not bluegrass, and I said they are a newgrass band. They are a ok band, if you like Newgrass music. face it it's a newgrass band in a Bluegrass fest. In a band comp.

Have you not been to Telluride? I highly recomend it! it is one of the greatest festivals around. I do recomend in your case to bring along some good noise canceling earphones connected to an ipod loaded with Bill and Scruggs. here is the '10 lineup.
Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas
Sam Bush Band
Béla Fleck, Zakir Hussain & Edgar Meyer
Yonder Mountain String Band
Telluride House Band featuring Sam, Béla, Jerry, Edgar, Bryan & Stuart
Del McCoury Band
