23 year old Rachel Willis-Sorensen sings Contessa Almaviva's first aria from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at a BYU devotional. October 16, 2007. Please be patient through the long introduction to hear some singing.

  • Heard her sing this role at the Michigan Opera Theater's Marriage of Figaro last Saturday. She was the highlight of the opera. I'm sure I wasn't the only one brought to tears by "Dove Sono." I look forward to hearing her again!

  • Rachel just won the Belvedere International Singing Competition!

  • que buena!!! y excelente acompañamiento! y guapa, muy guapa condesa!!!

  • @TEgnoto89 I agree with you re the pianist.I wasn't too keen on the pulling around of the rhythm and generall unevenness.Perhaps, a misguided attempt at expressivemess which he really doesn't possess naturally. The singer is really very talented and to sing this role of a really mature and worldly woman so well at such a young age is very impressive;Excellent voice.More insight into the dramatic implications of this role might encourage the use of more colours in the voice Otherwise lovely!

  • Really? I think they took it a little fast. Also the accompanist is not being tender enough with this; it sounds like she's having to compete with him.@gabrielleaviva

  • The start of Act II in Figaro has a long instrumental before Contessa's aria begins.

  • Jared was my best friend in my early childhood. He used to play this well effortlessly then.... look at that handsome fella now!

  • luanawillis...how poetic that you would say 'See you at the MET'...she won the MET COMPETITION TODAY!

  • Maravilhosa! bravíssima!
