In October 2009 I was diagnosed with stage 4 burkitts lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. My symtoms were tiredness, vertigo, and itching. After some tests, 5 rounds of chemo, and several lumbar punctures with intrathecal chemo, I'm in full remission

  • So sorry to hear you endured that, but very happy you're in remission:) how did the diagnose the burkitts?

  • @ozmonto Well, at first they thought it could be leukemia, but then a proper bone marrow biopsy at M.D Anderson found burkitts to be a concrete, set in stone diagnosis. I went in at stage 4 and there was no sugar coating. they told me I was barely into the woods as far as getting better and that it was a rare, aggressive lymphoma so they needed to attack it aggressively. They estimated 6 rounds of chemo until i was out of the woods but got done in 5 and all is good

  • glad to hear your in remission.i've had bunch of these as well i actually lost count but i think its somewhere around 30 i have acute lymphoncytic leukemia and i have been in remission since dec 08'. i was also wondering if u have had any back problems i've got three slipped disk and im not sure how i got them doc. said it wasnt from them but still can't help but wonder if it was also i never had sat up and had mine done always had to lay flat and i seen a bandage is that from a bone marrow?

  • @mikeymike6262 i've only had about 8 of these done and as far as back issues after i haven't had any. the bandage on my lower back was from a botched bone marrow biopsy that was done at utmb and it kept on bleeding out. i was transferred to m.d anderson and that's where they fixed me up. how are your'e treatments going
