This show is just a taste of the Bicentennial celebration for next year...just imagine!!! This is a tiny tour of Mexico's history and traditions.
This was made projecting a light façade tracing every detail of the original façade. They drew the 256,000bricks individually, each balcony and stone moldings.

@ 5:16 Its the Declaration of Independence.
@ 6:06 With help of shadows there are moments you can see individual bricks and entire sections come forth as in 3D, taking the form of Prehispanic Pyramids (towards the right of the video).
@ 7:08 The image is a Trajinera typical transportation in the old days in Xochimilco, now its done for fun for tourists. The water fan is used as the screen is 45m x 15m tall.
@ 7:49 Is the projection of a famous mural by Diego Rivera (its probably more than one mural).
@ 8:11Represents the Independence of Mexico from Spain on Sept/16/1810.
@ 8:38 Using skeleton pieces its reminiscent to how Mexico celebrates The Day of the Dead Nov 1st of each year.

  • wow... really tht's why I'm proud of been mexican, but Marcelo is spreading in silly tihngs, he said all festivities will be in an austere manner given the short budget, but never takes that spends millions on ice rinks (many people dunno skating), inflatable swimming pools and artificial beaches among a lot of things that I think is a waste of budget and it would be better than hanging around all that money and make the celebration of the bicentennial as it should be, GREATEST ever!!!

  • i love U mexico !!
