I bet most of you Lydon fans haven't seen this before! Regional news programme I had on video for two decades. YouTube brings it to you.

  • I've seen it! Got it on an old video. Not in quite such good quality though.

  • Blimey! You and me - the obscure twins!

  • I'll have to watch this a couple more times because i missed where John contradicted himself.

  • I went years without realising that and I worked it out just before I uploaded it. At the start he says he's doing this because he needs the money, and at the very end he says that he's not doing it for the money. I always thought the announcers were pretty smug but I guess they were right. It was the only thing, though, as far as I noticed.

  • Never saw this before,cheers!

  • Yay - glad it was a genuinely new one for you. I presumed it was suitably obscure.

  • Mr. Lydon contradicts himself with a reasonable amount of frequency. I think its part of his show. The fact is the man is making a living and uses the media as he see's fit to help generate an income so he can continue to do what he loves.

  • @piginasack I misunderstood

  • @abstractbard I'm not specifically referring to this interview - but he does contradict himself on occasion. Its a statement of fact, not of judgement.

  • @piginasack He didn't contradict himself once

  • John contradicts himself very often but I don't think that means he's not being honest. I actually think it proves that he is being honest. I'm sure if any of us spoke exactly what we felt at every moment we would contradict ourselves just as or more often than he does. I'm sure each of us is confused about what we believe and what we want, most of us just don't admit it. I consider myself to be a very honest person and I contradict myself all the time. It happens.

  • I'm a contradictory fucker myself, hands up I admit my faults. Being human is hard fucking work, John will tell u that.

  • thanx mate! cheers John!!

  • @markusa You again! I notice on most Pil/Lydon/Pistols related things you always have a negative comment. Why do you waste your time if you think he doesn't cut it? Me myself I think Lydon does not look as good or perform as well as he did 1976-1982 but interview wise Lydon is still a clever funny man & still makes great tv , hence why he is always interviewed. At the end of the Day he made Never Mind the Bollocks & Metal Box and you & I didn't!

  • @GuildfordGhost Yeah he does interviews, he did one butter commercial. But he stays himself and honest in the interviews he does, and he did the butter commercial to help fund a tour. Which is respectable. He's not making a cliche image for himself.

  • thank you so much. this is from the era of one of my top 3 pil albums. "9"

    cheers!
