@NasriTheNewKing That would make more sense to use criminals. After all sacrificing respected tribal members would result in...grudges to say the least. At least that's what I'd imagine
-
@DestroyerOfSense000 I think it'd be a draw between the goblins and the leprechauns. Goblins kill trollls but leprechauns would escape to their trippy fuckin rainbows

Well just a small part of celtic tribs practiced cannibalism , human sacrifice was more popular if i can say it lol , gauls even had different way to honor a god , some of them were put in a wooden box and then burnt , other were decapitated ( this one was for Toutatis ) and other were dismembered ( this was for the god of darkness ) , but around the 100 BC they started to make sacrifice with criminals . Posidonius wrote somethigna about that .

@NasriTheNewKing Thanks for the link man! Personally I don't have anything against cultural cannibalism as fucked up as that may sound rofl. I doubt gaulish women had too much under the Roman rule though...their women weren't too fortunate either :(. And Aterix is fucking boss

Do you also know that some celtic tribs used to eat the hearts of their enemies , i think it was in scotland , i've saw it in a documentary at the Tv long time ago , celt were also special , maybe some tribs gave more rights to women , but for the gauls i'm sure they didn't , maybe later under roman rules or in Asterix lol

I have a link about their sacrifices , it is in french , if you find a good translator , type sacrifice gaulois in google and normally it is the first link , but i also have a book who talk about France and his past , it starts around 600 BC to napoleon , they are something like 3-4 pages about the gauls .

@evolooshion was from the peoples of the British isles (Boudica, for instance), who needless to say were culturally different. I'd be interested to see your sources on the matter if you would be so kind as to give me a reference, fellow history fan :)

@NasriTheNewKing Part 1: I've never heard that first bit about the Gauls before. That's surprising to me. I must admit Celtic cultures aren't my main arena, though I read from a lot of sources that the Celts gave women several rights (ambassadors, rulers and even warriors), and also a piece about the relatively recent uncovering of a massive tomb of a seemingly wealthy Gaulish woman. That being said most of the support I later found for gender equality

The gaulish population was around 3-4 millions , knowin that at the age of 12 - 13 years your were considered as adult , they could build an army of 800 000 men , imagine that unleashed against Rome lol . To bad Vercingetorix took the power to late . And you're right Romans were the real barbarians , actually they stole countless idea from the Celts , during centuries they used gaulish weapons before the famous gladius .
-
@evolooshion You know gauls didn't give rights to women , in fact when they had to much daughters , they often gave the last one in sacrifice to the gods to have more sons , that's why they could build an anrmy of 300 000 - 400 000 warrors easily , Ceaser even captured hundred thousands gauls , most of them were sold has slave or sent in the arena as gladiators , around 300 000 gauls died during the Gallic war , and they were still enough to invade britain later .
Listen to this band and play Skyrim.... EPIC!

@spartancripto Haha fuck all those people "not attacking" you; you should learn your place. For starters, you cannot even spell the name of your own god correctly. For another thing, to lump pagan and black metal lyrics into the same category is frankly offensive. I'm a pagan and I don't worship your Satan; learn the difference. And you can claim that something that is pagan is wrong when you stop celebrating all your major holidays, which were all stolen from the pagan peoples you "converted."
