One early morning 6 nautical miles North of Rangitoto Island, Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand. Rangitoto is the cone shaped extinct volcano (only 600 years old) you can spot at times in the background.

  • @nanabonniez

She's a beaut spot alright - late summer to late autumn (Feb - May) is the best time of year to visit!

  • Lucky you ! hope you caught me a fish for dinner XD..x kirstie x

Haven't figured how to get a fresh fish up to you in the U.K. yet!

The fishing was good this season, though the school Snapper came in a bit late - but once they came in, it was easy to get your quota. Bit chilly that morning (note the exhaust vapor from the relief ports), but it turned into a scorcher later on.
