New York Yankees-produced video biography of the Yankee catcher who was American League rookie of the year in 1970, Most Valuable Player in 1976, and a seven-time all-star before his death in a private airplane crash.
I wonder if Thurman ever got a chance to hear what Sparky Anderson said about him while he was changing pitchers at 13:23 seconds of this clip. Considering that after this 4th game Anderson responded to a question asking him to compare Munson and Bench by saying he wouldn't embarrass anyone by comparing them to Bench, the anger that Thurman felt about that quote would've subsided in later years, cause what Sparky said at the mound was about as high an honor as an adversary can pay you.
Shame he's not in the hall of fame. Great all round player. And I'm not a Yankees fan, at all.

Is George Carlin the narrator?
