I love Mari Smith. I met her on Twitter (to address @elscb ). I actually have met many people who I wouldn't have had access to in any other way on Twitter and FaceBook. We have developed relationships as business people and have connected each other with our peeps reciprocally.
THAT is the way to make social marketing work for you. You can't just "tweet" and hope that God's flood gates will open. You have to actually 'talk' to people.
Thanks, for the vid, Travis!

Thanks for the insights.
It really seems strange to me that so many alleged "business people" think that one component or another of these albeit amazing internet tools are going to magically propel them into "auto pilot" fame and fortune.
Not much good is going to happen without putting the time and effort in to create, maintain, and continue to build on, and grow any business concept (where you sell useful products and services).
All of these really cool tools are simply

Excellent Interview I found very useful & proven to get the response I am looking to get.

I like the idea of SM being a "spoke" in your overall marketing strategy. Just remember that all the "spokes" need to lead to one central and important hub of quality content! If there's no content, the wheels fall off! Great interview...I learned some cool new terms and phrases today: "redical strategic visibility" and "grout your day with social media". Thanks for sharing.

I like it. Great interview. Many people know there is a way to build a list and make sales through social media but many don't really know how. They expect it to convert as quick as PPC and other paid resources and don't see that happening fast enough and start forcing it, looking spammy or they just quit. Relationships is what is key here. Great vid.
Great consultation and nice ideas!! Tho we here at Energia Productions have way advanced social media/community managing. But then again, the whole movie project (which is the most expensive movie project here in Finland and still we lack the multimillion marketing budget) depends on its fan base and internet visibility.
This was a good video, thank you =)

Thanks Travis, awesome interview! The story at 7:03 was right on.
I don't outsource, but if I did, there would be limits to it. Customer service should be handled by the product creator.
If a business gets too big for that one person to handle it, then their employees need to be educated in all aspects of the product. If they refuse the knowledge that it takes to properly care for and assist customers, they don't get hired.

@GreyStormMedia Agreed. Customer service is the #1 marketing tool a company has to customers.

I will start by saying I don't know anyone making cash via social media. I'm not saying people don't make cash, I just don't know anyone who is - so let me play devils advocate: When I watched this video, I heard that there is no immediate result and that you really have to work at it and develop all these relationships, and be there for people - get to know them... Well, throw up!! Who wants to do that? Most people want freedom - social media appears to me to lead to bondage...no?

@elsbc (wiping off your throw up)... It is what you want it to be Eric. I don't want to be in bondage any more than the next person, and that's the idea behind this video, how are leaders in SM succeeding with it? Find the balance for your business, but be there if for no other reason than branding.
Thanks for chiming in,
Travis
