  • How many strings does his cigarbox have??

  • @SkiDoo55565

Harry's cigar box guitar has four strings: three guitar strings tuned F#, C#, F#, and a lower bass string tuned F#.

  • this is not a lowebow

  • @gsjssss

In the Dec 2008 issue of Guitar Player, Harry describes his instruments. "I've also got a cigar box guitar made by Johnny Lowe in Memphis. I souped it up quite a bit...".

  • @suemcmurtrie2 asked harry myself recently about this very instrument - as i build cigar box guitars - and it is indeed a lowebow - with many mods.

i live reasonably close to him - he plays the area a lot.

  • @tohellwithpurplepeop Thanks!

    How about a modified lowebow?

Insurrection Rex called it a Lowebow made by Johnny Lowe of Memphis on comments for the video Harry Manx - I'm On Fire.

And "Johnny Lowebow" wrote "He did custom mods on his Lowebow".

Harry Manx had said yes when I asked if Lowebow was correct. Johnny Lowe also wrote "Harry has really made that one his! ...Thanks again for mentioning me as the builder! John".

    Thanks,

    Sue

  • Just saw this live. So amazing!

  • This is addictive to listen to. And... nothing plays like a Lowebow. Love the sitar influence.
