  • That's quite a pedalier — looks like a second piano underneath, with a linkage between the foot pedals and the keys. Thanks for finally giving me a look at this instrument. It would be nice some time to have the cameraman get nosy and put the lens closer to the action. It's nice to know I'm hearing the piece as Schumann wrote it. Can I request some Alkan for the pedal piano?

  • This is the instrument that the piece was originally written for, "Pedal-Flügel" being the German term for "Pedal-Piano".
