just to honor and to help out the headman or whoever it may be .you throw down your money to show and to surpport them.

I don't remember what the passing of money to a Gourd dancer meant but as a kid I was once given money as a Gourd dancer from fellow dancers and to this day I'm not sure what that meant. It's an awesome memory of dancing but as an adult wanting to know more, what does passing of money to a fellow dancer member mean?
