  • @Manuelc33 Imagine when you put on sun tan oil or lotion. Its absorbed into the skin. The heat of the oven opens the pours to help the process. Just like in humans when we shower and the hot water opens our pours.

  • Can you please explain how basting the skin helps with the flavor of the actual turkey meat? You said that butter will slowly bring itself into that bird, how does this process occur?
