Red knows there's a critter in the yard and doesn't understand why she can't go dig it up.

  • I love Plotts, and have a big black male who loves to howl and bark. when he goes after something, he barks like someone set him on fire, like he's in horrible pain. He doesn't sing though, more's the pity.

  • @BlindAspie That's hilarious! Red does the same thing when she see's game in the woods. We sometimes worry that people will think we're abusing her. She's terribly near sighted, though. A deer has to be pretty close and moving for her to see it.

  • WOW! Just like MY plott hound! Search "Good Morning Singing Dog - Funny!" and you'll see him! They like to talk huh? That's so funny!

  • @TheEscas Thanks for the comment. I just watched your video and that is one cute dog! Plotts do seem to be big talkers... and a beautiful singing voice, too.

  • Oh that's so cute! We got a Plott/Retriever mix a few months back and he "talks" to me like that as a greeting. I didn't know it was a Plott hound thing. too cute!

  • Thanks! Red's a great dog. She's turned us into huge Plott fans. Plott / Retriever sounds like a great mix.

  • Does anyone know how well a plott hound does when he is brought to a new family?

  • Wow, I think my 12.5 yr old male plott Ernie and my catahoula girl are Red's parents lol! She is the perfect combination of my two crazies! The whiny grunting straight from the catahoula, and the super-sad-eyes-chin-rest-face from Ernie! Must be a plott hound trait :D They sure know how to work that!

  • lol

  • I have a few videos of my Plotts playing, not really making any noise but they are a hoot, Red is a pretty dog.

  • My Plott does the same thing!

  • aww my dog looks like him hes a mix of plotthound and shar pei. hes a big talker and snuggler!

  • Sweet dog. Our Plott/Coonhound mix is very vocal like that too, especially when he is getting ready for bed; he moans and sighs if anyone disturbs him.
