@chris45n If I am going to use a White wire as a hot wire (instead as a neutral/return) then I will put a piece of black electrical tape near the end of the white wire.
@HomeAdditionPlus sorry for the confusion... I understand how to works, I don't know if there is a specific name for this wiring technique. However is there a way to label the WHITE hot wire to indicate it is hot instead of neutral?
@chris45n Not sure I understand your question. The upper side of the switch is providing the power feed to the light, and the white wire coming back from the light is the return. The return gets tied to the neutral back at the light switch box.
could som 1 help im taking wiring in my tech school we are wiring boards i need to have a switch powering 2 lights and a outlet always on but when i plug in one light stays on while my other is powered by my switch
@InformationCenter: What's probably going on is the light electrical box is providing power to the switch, via a hot/black wire in the romex at the switch, and the other side of the switch, when closed, is carrying the hot wire back to the light to close the circuit via the white wire. The white wire is actually providing the hot source to one end of the light circuit.

@HomeAdditionPlus what is this technique called? Is there any standard on how to label the neutral wire when it is used in this fashion?
