  • Come down off your high horse buddy I was asking is a friendly way. I know that a select few were given Jissen by Kancho Hideyuki, Australia being one of them, back in the days. I was unaware that it has been released to the masses. OSU

  • I apologize if I may have offended you, that was not at all my intention. Please keep in mind English is not my native tongue, nor is it my second. I am curious to why the kata would only be given to a selected few, that is completelly new to me. Perhaps some of my sempai knows better.

    Osu!

  • How did you guys get Jissen? Thought we, Australia were the only ones with it...

  • As far as I'm concerned, we've always had Jissen, and I know they have it in other countries also. Unless I'm mistaken, Jissen no Kata was constructed by Kancho Hideyuki Ashihara, so it should not be exclusive to Australia. Jissen no kata sono ichi and ni are both included in original new NIKO global grading curriculum.

  • Since My last comment, I am completely independant based in Manchester.

We have formulated Hybrids of the senior kata, Kihon Dai (13 combinations), Nage Dai (11 combinations), Kumite Dai (11 Combinations), Goshin Dai (13 combinations) & Jissen Dai (13 combinations).

  • @TheIncredibleNix Jissen means "fighting" karate, I took Ashihar from Joko Ninomiya and Sensei Johny Rochette, in Utah, and we had Jissen kata, also.

  • Ashihara Karate is related to a Karate club called "Jissen Kaikan".They both have the same fighting style. If I'm not wrong, the blocking technique is called "Soto uke".

  • det er frank sensei

  • hvad hedder du????

  • Very nice :) Osu, from Ashihara Sønderborg

  • From what I know it is to do with internal politics at Hombu, around the time of Kancho's death. It was only those close to Kancho Hideyuki who got access to the kata. My sensie's sensei was one of those close to him and his number one student. Osu
