  • @MrDanbloom - appreciate the comments. For what it's worth: Headline is indeed a major publisher, their PR office did indeed do everything humanly possible, the novel did indeed appear on many "best of 2011" picks, and all the reviews have indeed been great. The point of the video is that in today's market, that's not enough. If that's sour grapes then, hey: you got me. There's an article on my blog about the whole thing, titled "on success", if you're interested.

  • For what it's worth, of all those silly phrases, my absolute favourite remains "mouldy-gummed dentist-frightener". So pleased everyone's enjoying it.

  • a) I bought the book, the book is good. b) You should put links to the amazon pages and your website into the description of the video so people can act directly on seeing it. c) Good luck.

  • I'm only here because I read Lord of the Night and since then I've wanted to shake Mr. Spurrier's hand.

  • Did you try leaking a sex tape? Maybe one where your book is featured in every scene in a sort of product placement kind of way.

  • did i hear ocelot discharge?

  • you should write science fiction

  • @VampiraJen Tee hee hee!

  • I never noiced till you pointed it out, but the cover DOES look like a shlong...now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go giggle like a fourteen year old.

  • 3075 hits and climbing! BRAVO

  • To be honest. It's never the reviews that catch my eye. It's 1) the book image, 2) the summary. On bookshelves. I'm continuously amazed by the number of stories there... because I hardly ever turn on the tv when commercials for some of them are on. dang youtube cutting down the amount I'd like to comment. Short- I'm trying it next friday on kindle. Because of this video. not because I've ever read your novels before. though probably the comic books. Ah twitter. didn't know this was up
