Ways to Connect Electric WiresIt will not be an exaggeration to claim that most of us connect wires by means of simply twisting them with each other. However, the method has been prohibited in the latest guidance to electric mounting. It does not secure due contact and the location of twisting is overheated. New technologies have been introduced to replace twisting and this will be the topic of our short discourse. Firstly, this includes the usage of clamp clutches of the post mounted type. They are released with a clamping lath for fixing multi-core wires, and without the lath to connect single-core wires. Have in mind that when you use the clamp clutch without the fixing lath, the ends of the wires must be pressed by special tips. Otherwise the fixing screw destroys separate cores of the wire, which decreases the efficient area of current passage. Then consider the so-called bugel clutches. If there is an incision on the fixing lath of the clutch, it leads to the splitting of the oxide layer on the core of the wire, increasing the contact area and the quality of connection. Besides, the clutch construction prevents the fixing screw from spontaneous unfastening. In case it is needed to extend the wire or to connect wires of different types special lead cartridge cases are used. Current-conducting cores are inserted into the cartridges from both ends and pressing is performed by means of a crimping instrument. Then the cartridges are isolated by means of adhesive tape or heat-shrinkable tubing. Using the spring clamp significantly simplifies electrical mounting. It is only required to insert the core into the hole, the rest of the work is performed by the machine itself. The so-called mortise spring clamp even allows doing without the removal adhesive tape from the end of the current-conducting core. When connecting it is crucial to observe the matching of the wires on the clamping. If you do not observe the correct phase order it may cause the device to fail or to stop functioning abruptly.
