No posers here. This guy was the REAL DEAL!!!! True and honest. He was a true artist and singer, not a copy with smoke and mirrors. Country music needs to go back and grab hold of itself and throw this McGraw, Rascall Flatts nasal, pro tooled to death, compressed, artificial, cookie cutter pop shit back to the stone age! RIP Johnny.

Back in 1985 I was the drummer for a group that opened a show for JP, his real name is Donald, and this was the closing song to his last set. It was the most powerful moment I have ever experienced in my music career. The steel guitar part was both eerie and angelic. I didn't understand what this song meant back then, I just knew it was very profound. I understand exactly what it means today. Thanks for the talk JP. I miss you bud.

Some people today wouldn't know what good country was unless they listened to these guys . it's all about the sex and the money. Drn shame too. Guess we got the best of it , hey?

Johnny Paycheck is from my Hometown of Greenfield,Oh.I went to School with some of His cousins & my Mom went to School with Him.There will never be another country singer like Him.He was one of the Best!!.. :)

So many good or great country songs have been re-recorded but not this one makes wonder why maybe there isnt anyone out there that can do it.... beyond Mr. Paycheck this is a great country song one of the best and the only one to record it is Johnny

This was by all means my favorite Johnny Paycheck song, maybe my all time favorite country song (Old Violin). I feel so bad about Johnny's passing back in 2003, what a loss!!! We don't have good country music any more, just Hollywood type crap. Good job Johnny and Rest In Peace son.
