This was my very first PS1 racing game, got it Xmas Day 1997. The music played during the races certainly takes me back. Graphics look blocky now, but seemed great back then!

Of course TD wasn't great. Hell, it was flawed and often fiddly as shit. The graphics were glitchy and the handling horrible at times.
But it had so much character and heart, people who liked it will agree. You just felt the people who made this loved their work and did the best they could. And dang, if you allowed the game to sucker you in, the racing felt good. And the soundtrack was a banger, of course.

I remember this game with fondness...I used to give the cars characteristics e.g. Morgan and Rossi were always feuding (and would make up a story to my younger bro explaining who had done what to piss the other off)...what can I say, I was like 7 :P
Plus the music was epic!!
