I am happy to, pull over and let vehicles pass if they are having problems overtaking me safely, but I was afraid to brake or pull off into the mud/short driveways (27mph) because of how close he was. Had to wait til the slower slightly up hill bit of the road, he still got closer when I signaled and slowed. Didn't come across as very professional, strange that I got the thank you "beep" so maybe he thought he was driving ok? The last (local) Kiddles coach overtook safely...thank you.

  • "Only a fool breaks the two second rule" - you'd need the reactions of a mongoose to see what reaction/braking distance that cockwomble (hah!) was leaving.

  • It seems rather odd that you have a camera mounted on your bike. Do you look for something to complain about? having seen your other videos, don't answer that, I know the answer.Do you video yourself running red lights, and overtaking on the inside? And what happened to the missing 4 seconds? Why did you cut it?

  • I see that you are 'happy to pull over'...so why didn't you when you had large driveways you could pull into?

How close was he actually, as we all know cameras foreshorten the distance.

You say 24mph? really??? 15Mph maybe, and at that speed what is the breaking distance?

Would you rather he overtook very close to you? Seems to me that waiting til it was clear was the safer option .

  • that wasnt that close if he had been inpatient he would of been right on your rear wheel

  • The other day I had a bus follow me even closer than that, going around a roundabout.

I turned around to look the driver in the face, put my hand outstretched, palm facing and yelled BACK OFF.

I was quite prepared to stop in the middle of the road in his path and not move until he did back off, but fortunately he did back off a bit.

Then after the roundabout he made a ridiculously close pass over a pedestrian crossing. NZ registration CFY858, Hutt Valley Flyer.

  • Good clear shot of the number plate.

  • Hope he gets sacked, this is unacceptable, you could have easily be wiped out...

  • Agree with others - it was too close to you - a classic sign of bullying and he successed. Not right.

What if you had to stop or fall over - the bus would run you over with no time/react to brake! Report this to the company!

  • Oh, that makes me so angry on your behalf!!! Incredibly dangerous driving, and seriously seriously unacceptable. That driver really ought to get either a serious written warning for that, or if it's not his first offence needs to lose his job.
