Badfinger member Pete Ham sings and plays lead guitar on this song at a group rehearsal in 1973. This song was on the group's 1st Warner Brothers LP. It was written about his girlfriend at the time, Sandie Gipson.

In the book 'Without You: The Tragic Story Of Badfinger" this scene was described as such "Pete is the main focus here, and in a few short minutes you get a chance to see many of his traits: the silly side, the serious side, his soulful ability on guitar, his creative intensity, and at the end, his deeply-rooted introspection. It's a good capsule view of the man."

  • This may be the greatest footage I have ever seen. RIP Pete

  • You guys---the fact that Pete was not recognized is probably more of a credit to him than if he was. We live in a society where people care about creatures like Paris Hilton, and other pathedic nobody-scumbags---Pete was in a class by himself---no wonder most people can't relate. But we do!

  • Love Pete Ham too good a man saw all the good in others trusted til the end true talent true artist I wish to meet him when my time comes Love and miss ya brother much respect ^i^

  • That last bit where the camera is focused on Pete's eyes....just brought tears to my own eyes. It was like seeing into his soul. What a wonderful man.

  • Some days it's a hard life, right? Then you watch a bit of old rehearsal film from 40 years ago and think..well, maybe things aren't so bad after all.

  • An excellent song which shows that Badfinger should have never stayed in the category of second-class bands!

  • @nicky196427 - It's never too late to learn to play. But chances are, you'll never be able to approach playing as well as Pete. That's okay - not many people can. I've played for over 20 years - more than 30 if you count the decade that I had to put down the axe. I'm good at rhythm, terrible at solos. But if you really want to play, get your hands on a decent guitar and get started. It's a helluva a lot of fun! ( :

  • petes the best, player singer,

  • ALL I CAN SAY,, SO SAD WHAT SOME LOW RAT TOOK FROM SUCH PEOPLE WITH SO MCH TALENT AND IT WAS DESTROYED BY SOMEONE WHO SAW MONEY. R.I.P PETE.AT LEAST YOUR MUSIC WILL LIVE LONGER.

  • Everybody talks about Pete, but forget that Tom did commit suicide too, 10 years later! They were mentally weak but musically strong! They were amazing! Now they are just a memory :( RIP Pete and Tom!

  • So....so.....so... sad.....that....these talented people have to take their lives because corrupt people are so greedy! What goes around comes around...........that is true!!

  • Everytime I listen to this song makes me wish that I could play the guitar. Love Pete. RIP
