THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN is the best movie made on the subject of being a quadriplegic. It covers all the emotional bases that one would experience in that circumstance. Inspiring and uplifting, it's a film that works the way The Sound of Music and Titanic works. Beautifully photographed and scored in that in that glossy Douglas Sirk way. The Academy Award nominated song RICHARD'S WINDOW is sung by OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN
Both movies are now available At Amazon in DVD as a Universal Vault Series

@syntaur Dave Mc Coy is a pioneer, starting Mammoth Mountain and look what it's become to day. Dave is still alive today in his late 90's.

@syntaur This film works the way The Sound of Music works or Titanic. It covers all the basic emotions that anyone would experience in this situation. There's the ineffective parents who can only give her love and little else. The best friend that reminds her of how bad everything is. The boyfriend who dumps her because he cannot come to terms with her handicap and then the man who re-enters her life to reconnect her with the spirit she thought she had lost.
