This is a hinghon keyboard paired up with a casio VL1. The hinghon is hooked up to a sequencer which can be used to set 8 step patterns using the rotary selectors to assign different drums to each step. It has overdrive and pitch control. The driver for the sequencer also runs an LFO (lfo1) which can be routed to both the hinghon and the vl1. Good for syncing up the leads sounds from the vl to thew drum sequencer. There is a second lfo routed to the vl1 which allows you to set it's pitch modulation to free run. The sequencer driver also connects to a drone switch which when activated will switch on a note repeat on the hinghon. The vl 1 also has it's own pitch, lfo depth and drone distortion controls.

  • Dare I ask... how much? x)

  • @maolyn666 I can't remember how much this went for. I thik it was about £250. I also built one called the DREADNOUGHT which went for £400 on ebay. I keep toying with the idea of building another twin keyboard machine. Then adding a delay circuit etc to it. If you're interested in anything particular send me a pm and i'll see what i can do. I pefer commission work to ebay sales so price reasonably.

  • Blimey.... This is really impressive mate!

Have you found any way of triggering the vl-1's drum externally?

  • Cheers. No i haven't. Although now you mention it i'll have a go and see if i can when i get back next week. That's the hinghon doing the drums and growling. The vl is just for the screaming lead stuff. Just the usual mods in there. It's got me wondering if drum triggering can be done. I suppose it's likely that it can't since i've never seen a pt or vl variant with drum trigger buttons on. Unlike the SA's. You can apply drums to all of those quite easily on the back pins of the long ic.

  • I love your bent instruments! They're awesome. I wish I knew how to bend this good! Keep up the awesome work!

  • If you do ask for some help and i take a while to get back to you it's not because i'm being ignorant. I'm just busy as hell making this stuff or away from home a lot of the time.

  • you have some of the most musical circuit bent jams out there. i'm eyeballin one of your filter boxes on ebay right now. wish you had a pt-87 ready right now too. btw your sequencer/sync of the two here is genius and sounds sweet. i bent a hinghon but not like this. i have a vlrgin vl tone too. my bends tend to be pretty basic, that's why your filter is on my list.

  • Simply amazing ...

  • OH MY GOD SUCH AMAZING WAREZ!!!

  • Thanks for the good words. Much appreciated. It's taken a while to get to this point and i'm still learning all the time. The sound i try to get them to make tends to be inspired by what i listen to. NIN's year zero was a big inspiration a while back. You can sample the hell out of a lot of this stuff and create some really cool sampler patches and instrument sets for ableton and reason. if you're into modding stuff and want any tips at any point hit me up and i'll try to get back to you...
