This is without a doubt the greatest performance by Tim McGuire at any world championship. A flawless long program complete with the strength and power we knew him for. The judges agree with near almost all perfect scores of 6.0

  • yes, the greatesst jumps and spins I have seen! What kind of wheels, boots, and plates does he use?

  • @shalamar07 well this was back in 1982 and obviously equipment has changed since then, but Tim was skating on Snyder frames.. dont know what boot or wheels. I'm guessing Bones back then for wheels...

  • i was there in the crowd watching. had known tim from a few years before when i skated nationals and met him for the first time. this is about as good as i can ever remember him skating though he did land a clean triple loop at nationals.

in one of the warmups time landed more triples singly and in combination in quick succession in a few minutes than just about anyone i have ever scene.

i have never scene anyone quite like him in all my years around roller free skating.

  • I believe Tim used American Dreams for the wheels.

  • Amazing! Those sit spins are unbelievable!

  • i'm a jam skater but i would love to incorperate some of this into my ruitines its just so hard to learn

  • JUST ONE WORD-'EXCELLANT-FOSTERFIELDS

  • Ok. Thanks! I have the Reidell 297 boot, Snyder Super Deluxe Plates,

Bone Swiss Ceramic bearings, and Bone Artistic Wheels.

  • @shalamar07 Unless he changed his wheels from nationals that year [obviously different floor surfaces] TIm was skating on All American Dreams [a Vanguard wheel]. Google "Vanguard All American Dreams."

Possibly the best wheel [for spins] ever made. They required that you be right over the top of your skate at all times. Very slick for some skaters. They were one of the first indoor freestyle wheels [after Rannalli Pro-line] to have an insert 'hub' allowing for optimum roll and speed.

  • amazing

    best i ever seen=]

  • I was there and skated against him, had breakfast with him the morning of this skate, top bloke. deserved to win by a mile, can remember the german champ at the time (butski or something?) gave Tim some grief when he made just 1 mistake in the short, shut him up with this long program performance.
