I was brought up in this shit. My mother was abused by an Anglican cleric when I was 5. It screwed up my parents marriage. My mother had a nervous breakdown. During this time JWs made contact. Our family went with this crap for 15 years. I broke free of the JWs in 1981. I then got involved in Charismatic Christianity (out of the fryingpan into the fire!)

You do no favours for kids bringing them up in any organized religion.

FEAR. GUILT. SHAME.

Religious indoctrination of kids = CHILD ABUSE.

@abbyguy Amen brother.. My heart really goes out to these people, because a lot of them really do have a heart to help others. Unfortunately they are deceived by the watchtower. Where in the Bible does it say you need to use any other resource other then the word of God to rightly divide truth. The Word is God! John 1:1. Works? The bible says were are saved by Grace throught faith and not of ourselves lest anyman should boast. It's not our performance. Salvation is a gift and so is righteousness

@02extremespl they get it from the book of revelations of 144000 type in 144,000 on wikipedia its interesting what it says on it for other non- christian cultures as well =)

There is alot of teachings of JW that is questionable? The one that gets me the most is believing 1914 is when Jesus came into power. That is a requirement. How do you know what goes on up in heaven? 144000. How did that get started? Hard to imagine the first to think they were one and announced it. Bible does talk of giving yourself titles. Just what does the bible say of the 144000? Someone who lives life as a JW, but doesn't believe in JW. I don't see how god can destroy them.

It's amusing how he neglects to mention how the Holy Spirit plays a part in guiding and drirecting us or being born again to secure a place under Gods wing.

However, he does go on and on and on about the things to DO to be protected.

In other words, salvation through works, works, works, to recieve life in paradise...maybe. LOL
