  • You Do realize, don't you, that ALL of the arguments being used against Marriage Equality today were, literally, used to stop racial integration, as well as interracial marriage (down to the specific wordings)! Think on that...

  • Great video thanks you made me smile

  • @MacMorrighan

I KNOW?! WHAT THE HELL. Do people seriously not learn anything from history?! Gah. Fuck it, I'm moving to canada.

  • No to same-sex marriage. Support a federal constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages.

  • "Had those who ratified the Due Process Clauses of the Fifth or Fourteenth Amendment known the components of liberty in its manifold possibilities, they might have been more specific. They did not presume to have this insight... times can blind us to certain truths and later generations can see that laws once thought necessary and proper in fact serve only to oppress. As the Constitution endures, persons in every generation can invoke its principle in their search for greater freedom."

  • Shut up FAG...

  • Past results are no guarantee of future performance... which is good news for you, because history has shown that 31 times out of 31, the American people have voted a certain way. Also, just because you claim history shows something does not mean you are correct. Look at Marx; he predicted many things that did not come to pass, such as communism appearing in developed countries first. It didn't work like that... in fact, Communism itself did not play out at all... and neither will your ideas.

  • You can call it a "smug arrogance of certainty" but history is very clear here.

We should exchange emails and if there is no change in 20 years you can email me and say I told ya so. I'm confident enough to say I would be sending out the email though.

  • There IS no "cycle." This is wishful thinking on your part, driven by a self-serving narrative of history. And your comparison of gays to blacks is an insult to the former.

Since you are so interested in supposed trends, let me illustrate another trend, that of religious people outmultiplying more secular ones, and the percentage of hispanics (heavily anti-gay marriage) is growing. Although it is true I have these two factors on my side, I don't display the smug arrogance of "certainty."

  • No way that comment makes any sense. Almost suggesting young people are too immature to understand if they actually want to allow same sex marriage because they will grow up!""... Let me ask my dad of he still believes blacks should be allowed to vote and on and on and on, every generation has a group of young people who change something. In 30 years when I'm 50, there will most likly be a group of kids trying to change something and I will be against it, the cycle doesn't stop.

  • Thing about young people... they grow up! lol. Seriously, don't think that their political ideologies will stay the same forever, especially as they grow older, they become more religious... same thing with people when they marry and have children... and when the excesses of youth pass them by...

  • My point is I have the right to call it ridiculous because in those 2 states it passed almost 100-99. There are enough voters in Maine for samesex marriage but it's impossible to motivate them because it's not that big a deal, no issue, they say do what you want. But we are fighting the church so it's an impossible battle because they are so involved and motivated every last one goes out and votes as a family. Your lookin at at least a 75% young people approval, only a matter of time.
