I would much rather have one of these vessels than a mono hull if it had the range I was looking for. Also you could probably out run pirates in something like this. Nice video thanks for posting.

@lifeboat20 Search "rough weather trials of ocean ranger", theres a shot of a Wildcat 40 being hit by a 4m breaker in this video, and "rough weather testing of the wildcat 40 jeanne baret" which is a nice video of a wildcat 40 in 5-6m waves, although not to violent that day. But look at "pilot boat pathfinder in in storm force 10", this is a 16m monohull that I was testing in 8m waves, and i think in my experiance the big cats would be even more stable in these conditions.

After re-viewing several times I am more than impressed by 'her' seakeeping prowess ,was there any 'slamming coming larger waves?.What was 'her' speed and sea state during trials?.What would the outer limits be, compared to your pilot boats in similer sea states?
Another extremely well designed and built vessel.

@9102mexico As far as outer limits go, it wasnt that rough this day, but ive been hit side on by a 4.5m breaking wave that broke over the boat in our 12m Wildcat, that heeled her to 35 degrees, thats on the back slope of the curve (55 degrees max), and on a 14 ton displacment, so this vessel at close to 30 tons should be able to take a 6m breaker side on, bit academic though cause I wouldnt want to volentarily do it, but im talking about dangerous standing / surf waves, not ocean waves.
