Love Lick Library! Got loads of their DVDs for my own personal, musical development and as a teaching reference for my students. My favourites are the Jimi Hendrix tutorials by Danny Gill. I just love the way Danny plays Hendrix - really tight, with powerhouse rhythm chops, far more clinical than Hendrix but I love it!!! Nice one Danno!

i was really disappointed with the metallica dvd i got because i was hoping it would show some techniques for the solos but all the dvds show are the notes

That's the whole point of the 'Learn To Play Series' though, you learn each song note for note.
If you want to learn some Metallica techniques, it might be worth you trying the 'Kirk Hammett Guitar Techniques DVD' :)
