This is Rufus (our son, Tyler's border collie/lab mix) being chased by our semi-famous toy poodle, LITTLE BIT, who can also be seen playing with our Malamute Bodie 10 years ago in another YouTube video - link below. Many of you will be pleased to see that Little Bit still has plenty of energy after all these years, and we are also encouraged because Rufus is the first larger dog that Little Bit has befriended since the loss of Bodie several years ago. Be sure to watch until Rufus dives into the pool. He is not quite as well-trained as it might appear on the video. He is just predictable and usually jumps into the pool after playing hard. He swims many times a day and is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever had.

  • Little Bit's a little chubbier and grayer than in the other video, but still as spunky as ever :)

  • Yes, you got that right. It is now over 10 years since that original video I shot with Bodie, but it's still the same back yard, and although Little Bit has gray hair, he still has the energy of a little puppy... at least in spurts. :) Now if he'll just stop picking fights with our friend's pit bulls, maybe he'll live another 10! It's really good that they are friendly dogs and they seem fine with allowing Little Bit to be the pack leader. Bodie just taught Little Bit that HE was the boss.

  • An animal psychologist would suggest that Little Bit might have some long-buried memories of being chased around by a big bad Alaskan Malamute and is acting out a revenge fantasy of chasing down the alpha male dog :)

  • I'll have to agree just because I'm not smart enough to argue that one. :) It makes sense though. I guess we accidentally conditioned him to be mean to big dogs, but in case you missed the discussion, it actually started the day we shaved Bear, the Great Pyrenees, and Little Bit went after him, biting his feet for the next 8 years, obviously long after Bear's hair grew back They were friends before that day. Crazy. Bear could have killed him, too. Little Bit has an angel with him for sure!

  • its really nice to see how u interact with your pets, u give pet owners a good name

  • Thanks! I hope our pets think so, too. :)

  • there's a random cat. lol!

this is sooooooo cute!!!!!!!! how big is your toy poodle??

  • What a Power-poodle :D Nice Vids!

  • Truly a case of a dog's bark being worse than its bite :)

By the way, I noticed at 1:43 the cat tries to high five Little Bit

  • Lil' Bit hasn't slowed down at all! Kind of encouraging to those of us who are getting older. :) I'm glad he's found a new "big" friend to chase. It will keep him from sitting around and putting on weight! Go Lil' Bit & Rufus!
