Hi, Doug. Missed seeing everyone at Swannanoa this year. Hope you had fun! I have a cocobolo/sinker redwood on order from Kathy and after listening to this, I'm even more enthused. Gorgeous arrangement and that guitar just sings! I'm enjoying Al's Dream Guitar arrangements. Great job!

Exquisite arrangement and impeccable playing.
I understand that you are tuning an octave higher on some of the strings, which strings?
What brand of string will handle that kind of tension, having in an octave higher.
Again, wonderful arrangement and playing.

@Stomo1709 Yes, it's what's called "high strung", or "Nashville Tuning". The bottom four strings are an octave higher. D'Addario sells a set specifically for the tuning. You can also get a 12-string set, and use the high strings (and you'll be left with a standard set - so you get 2 for 1!) I just roll my own. I think I have a .013 and 0.17 on the top two strings, and, the 4th and 5th strings are the same. I put something like a .026 on the 6th string, and a .010 on the 3rd. Fun tuning!

Hi Doug, I am so sorry I have never heard of you before. I have been a big fingerstyle fan for years(Phil Keaggy, Doyle Dykes, Ed Gerhard etc). I have watched a few of your videos and they are great. This is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard. Quick question. Do you play DADGAD exclusively or is this in a different tuning, also do you need to adjust anything on your guitar to string it that way. Thanks-keep vids coming!!!!

Hi. I use a number of tunings, but DADGAD's a favorite that I use a lot. For normal guitars, I just use light gauge strings, but usually put a .013 and .017 on the top two strings. Not necessary, tho. On this tune, the guitar is "high strung", and the strings are all odd guages, with very light strings on the bottom so they can be tuned an octave higher.
