Phonograph: oak Victor Victrola Model 14 (VV-XIV) made in 1916 in New Jersey.

Song: Mean To Me (1929) -- Music by Fred E. Ahlert, Lyrics by Roy Turk.

Recording: Harmony 859-H (1929) by Annette Hanshaw [as Gay Ellis].

Trivia: Ahlert and Turk also wrote Walkin' My Baby Back Home and I Don't Know Why (I Just Do). Gay Ellis was one of the pseudonyms that the record companies used for Hanshaw. This one was used by the Harmony and Diva labels since at the time she was supposedly exclusively recording for the Velvetone label. This song was featured most recently in the great animated movie, Sita Sings the Blues.
