@splitty77 I believe some of his superiors were on that plane with him because of his flying. This happened at Fairchild AFB in Spokane Wa. The pilot was notorious for doing crazy things and some crews flatly refused to fly with him. Maybe he had some kind of death wish.

@cucaratsa76 There's definitely an ejector system. And as @cannellrc correctly points out its the co-pilot who ejects but is unfortunately killed.

just try imagine being in a fucking plane crash. this only happens in movies, not me, why god is this be happening to me, everyone hysterically screaming and crying and praying, going instantly insane with terror, helpless cries for mothers, vomited up in-flight meals spraying to the walls and ceiling, the pilot uselessly screams into the intercom "BRACE, BRACE OH GOD HELP IM SORRY IM SO SORRY OH GOOOOOO-" utter apocalypse, everyone vaporized with unimaginable brutality. for real...
