Good points. However, while SharePoint has not been a replacement for mature ECM solutions like OnBase, OpenText or Saperion, the latest SharePoint 2010 has narrowed the gap. Furthermore, there are now quite comprehensive ECM add-ons that turn SP into a viable ECM solution. Perhaps most notable is the "ECSPAND" solution which runs as a native SP service and provides advanced ECM capabilities including Imaging, Storage management, integration to Dynamics & SAP, and many other features.
