For many, one of the highlights of a Walt Disney film was the opening song by Jiminy Cricket. Cliff Edward sings this song beautifully. His high tenor falsetto was very appealing.

  • @roselandalvin Thank you! Yes, it strikes a certain chord with most Americans who remember all the old Walt Disney movies.

  • I have loved this music, and Cliff Edwards voice since I first heard this back in the 50s. This is the first time I have heard the full version. Its pure magic. Thanks youtube.

  • @movievaudeville Thank you very much for this information; it is an important addition to the video. Much appreciated!

  • I don't know if a film has been made of his life, but it should be. He did beautiful music, was really famous, but died virtually unknown as a charity patient in a California nursing home. I read that his body was unclaimed for something like 3 days. Years later Disney provided a head-stone for his grave since there apparently wasn't one. He was brilliant but still had a rather tragic life. Left an amazing legacy, though. Lucky for us.

  • @alwaysdreamingable Well, it's probably because it's buried deep in the childhood memory of millions of Americans--and others--who have seen countless Walt Disney films. I always loved beautiful music, and I can remember that for me, even 60 or more years ago, the opening of the films, with this song, was the highlight of the movie for me.

  • @johnnybgood2012, thank you, it made me cry, not sure why:)
