Neil deGrasse Tyson Opens A Rocket In His Office

TIME recently went to interview Neil deGrasse Tyson and we noticed a huge crate had been delivered to his office. He was then kind enough to open it on-camera. The back story of this gift is that Neil was adamant that ABC News include the Saturn V Rocket on its list of The 7 Wonders of America. The folks at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama were so grateful, they sent Neil a replica.

What you see here is the pleasure that scientific knowledge can bring. The reason he is so excited is that he knows and deeply understands the truly stupendous achievement of the Saturn 5 and Apollo programmes. When you really grasp a part of science, and realise that it is actually real, and not some fairy tale, it can be hard to stop smiling. Kids, science is not just learning facts, it's actually a philosophy and a framework for interacting with the universe around you. And it works.

@ilytopy Good question, but I sugggest that this gives us a pretty good idea of the incidence of mistaken "likes". I know very very seldom I have hit the wrong button. so maybe around 7 per 1000 is the false negative rate ?
