The first part of the 'Dee-Construction'
programme broadcast by Channel Four UK in 2003. Note the 'Big L' theme tune in the background and some re-sung PAMS jingles.

  • RIP Simon... what a waste of a talent killed by the suits of the BBC

  • I can't believe that even in 2003 you could opening smoke cigars on TV.

  • Tony Blackburn; is, and always has been a (or a has-been) twat, How he can compare Dee, to that overated ginger arsehole is beyond belief. Simon Dee not only spoke to his audience, but for them also. Sadly for Simon; the government in those days were more concerned about power, than perks, Also; he never married a talentless, gold-digging Neanderthal. If there's anybody out there, who is a mixture of Simon Dee, and Kenny Everett, now is the time to come forward. WE NEED YOU.

  • His show on Radio Luxembourg was the best. His theme tune was used (nicked?) by Dave Lee Travis in the early 70's for his Radio 1 show. I was a kid who used to tune in on a Friday and Saturday nights, listening under the bed-clothes so Mum and Dad didn't hear!. They were great days.

  • Scott Walker was a guest on his shows often, any footage of that anywhere,,,?

  • have just accquired a 'flair '33 1/3 rpm with simon dee's autograph

  • I believe the Mike Myers character of Austin Powers was based on Simon in the 60's.

    Yeah baby!!

  • he died the day before actually

  • So when are we going to see the documentary on Simon Dee re-enacted with Hugh Grant as the main man?It will be a Blockbuster!Hugh looks so much like him that I bet,Hollywood is already aiming high with this story and with Hugh as the main actor!Let's all hold on tight ,awaiting the movie about this amazing man!

  • this is great wheres part 1 and the rest please?
