  • what level is that vest

  • That's old-school body armor.

I don't think the level-ratings in use today existed then.

Based on the performance (stopping a 7.62x51 round) it would rate at least Level IV today.

  • .308 is more powerful than the .500 and .454, and the .458 is more powerful than the .308, right? What's the most powerful conventional caliber?

  • You use two words of uncertainty "powerful" and "conventional." One person's oddball is another's ordinary. Energy does not equal penetration capability. The general formula for the kinetic energy is: E = .5 • m • v2

  • Stopping power is just the ability of a round to consistently drop guys, not literally knock them over.

  • I hope this video will shut little fucking counter-strike players up who think they know something about guns and think stopping power or knock down power exists.

  • "...okay I want you to shoot me again...." LMFAO, these guys are bat shit crazy but they're also like my heroes.

  • @Jairion Come on, man. . . If a human can absorb the kinetic energy of the recoil, another human of the same mass can absorb the kinetic energy of the impact.

People getting 'knocked down' when shot is more to do with them being surprised, not the impact overwelming the stability of their standing posture. You may as well say your voice has knock down power since you could sneak up behind someone and scare them bad enough that they trip over their feet and fall down.

  • Equal and opposite reaction. Does it topple the man firing it?

  • You guys are CRAZY!!!

  • thats still not good enough just face it

the only way to knock someone back is to smash their face in with a bat

  • Depends on the bullet, really... It has to be so blunt that it doesn't penetrate too much, yet have enough mass behind it to knock something.

I'm quite sure a 40mm dud grenade would topple a man.

  • Damn. While this does prove a valid point, I don't know if it's really a good idea to shoot someone who isn't a threat, body armor or not. There was so much that could wrong there.

  • this whole video looked dangerous....

  • these people are crazy

  • Considering modern Level III steel strike plates that I have weigh 8.5 pounds each, the ones he had on in this video must have weighed a ton.

And, too all those that asked questions about the level. IDK what the standards were during the time this video was filmed, but today Level III hard plates are rated for 7.62x51mm NATO.
