I've surf this song on the various vocal singers and i find this version so far the best. Walter Navarro with his sharp rendering is a close second and Alice Groove is very much worth mentioning.

I've only heard the John Farnham version before. Having heard this, I don't see any point in listening to Sinatra's version. How could he top this? As a singer, I admire Jones's perfect diction as well as his perfect pitch, meter, timing and the emotion he puts into this. BTW, did you know that Donkey Serenade was recorded by his father, Alan Jones?
