With Woolworths in Administration in December and all stores closed for good on January 5th 2009. *EDIT: Boxing Day 08 Deloitte (Administrator) added an extra day to remaining open stores due to large volumes of stock and shelves remaining *EDIT2* All remaining stores closed Tuesday 6th January 2009.* So I chose a song really quick that I could find *EDIT3 the song has changed from original *and scrambled some images together, as many have noticed some may not be the real Woolies we know, but just imagine it is please. Yes the financial climate etc etc blah blah blah, this video is about woolies nothing else, Thankyou!

@VirgilB01 I used to love the Old Woolworths in chicago here too.We used to shop[ n eat there when i was a teen n the cafateria had great foof.I miss it so much,had many fun times there.Glad someone else misses it too.

@sbrocksman - Here in the US. I remember Woolworths and they been around for quite a while. They had a lunch counter near the front where you could get sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, pies, etc.I used to love that place. They went under from heavy competition from other major retail chains here in the US. Especially from Walmart which was dominating the retail business with lower prices along with the rise of Dollar stores which are now a big as Woolworths used to be.

the picture at 1:02 and at 1:11 is not of a american or uk woolworths it is of a woolworths store in Australia and the trailiers the use, they have no realation to the uk or american woolworths.

Woolworths still here in Australia (Except Victoria where its called Safeway) as a food store like Tescos. Name lives on in a way!

Yeah, the UK had a Safeway before being sold on to Morrisons and other supermarkets, Tesco bought many of the Safeway petrol stations, thanks for your comment.
