Starring- Burt Lancaster, Robert Walker and Joanne Dru
A cattle baron takes in an orphaned boy and raises him, causing his own son to resent the boy. As they get older the resentment festers into hatred, and eventually the real son frames his stepbrother for fathering an illegitimate child that is actually his, seeing it as an opportunity to get his half-brother out of the way so he can have his father's empire all to himself.

Very good movie. Always love Lancaster. Good plot with evil bad guy played deftly and good character parts with all the greats of cowboy movies.

This opening reminds me of the opening of Shane: the music is similar, the scenery is similar, and the credits' design is similar. Is this a promising omen that the movie will be good?

Robert Walker is great in this film, in one of the rare opportunities he had to play a real challenging role. It was this film that paved the way for his greatest role in Hitchcock's "Stranger's on a Train"
