"technology presented may have been the most advanced" - No, they were super dense and deep. Same as the ones in WW2, under Berlin and London - wrong again.

@halechad In short, we know what the treat is, technology used and already have bunkers that can "withstand a direct hit" from a nuclear bomb. So really, use some critical thought and apply it to things you see on TV and the internet.

Just because you're bewildered by things, does not mean others don't understand them at a glance.

I'm not saying you're stupid, but you are way below average intelligence. Additionally, the thing of seeing conspiracy in everything, is another problem you have.

@halechad What does that have to do with anything about the show? How does it comment on the ridiculous premise and structure of the show? How does it shine light on the era, attitude or "secrets in designs"?

Why would I care what they have now as protection? Also, as the only threat could be from a super "bunker buster" type weapon, but even then you'd need to be sure someone was in a certain spot for sure.

the technology presented may have been the most advanced of it's kind-

in it's day. if that had those then, ask your self- do you know what they have now?

4. the iraq war starting in 2003, is when I remember the national debt starting to blossom, to 4 trillion.

5. by 2012, the american debt will be 14 trillion to almost 15 trillion.

6. how much is 1 trillion? you could have opened a business the day jesus was born, lost 100,000$ everyday, and still have a few hundred years left to go.

7. so, in aproximately 4 decades, we have only 9 years wherein a debt of 10 or so trillion is added.

think about this- where did it all go? why now? follow the money
