  • Just south of Jacksonville Illinois at a city lake called Roodhouse lake

  • how many inches and pounds was the big one

  • about 5.5 lbs at maybe 20 inches I dont remember for sure was about a year ago

  • what size/action rod is preferred for 1/2oz jigging?

  • 6 1/2 or 7 footer med-heavy in winter or colder season. Heavy rods just seem to lose some feeling on real cold days. Heavy works well 3 seasons of the year but in winter the action ond vibration through the line to the rod just isnt there.

  • are you droping your casting

  • yes, most of the time, occassionally Ill flip it out to keep the line twist out.

  • thanks for the solid down to earth information- and keeping it simple and fun

  • Something surprising to me was that you were vertically jigging in as little as 5 feet of water. You would think that fish would be spooked by the boat directly over them.

  • Good video!

  • Right in the top of the face!hahaha

  • what size of jig is that? what brand also? great video
