Something surprising to me was that you were vertically jigging in as little as 5 feet of water. You would think that fish would be spooked by the boat directly over them.

Hey, i live in Oregon, and love to fish down out my bout house, but i'm not sure how to bass fish so thanks for such a great video. My water tempature is around 45-50 degrees is that too cold to fish for bass??

what size/action rod is preferred for 1/2oz jigging?

6 1/2 or 7 footer med-heavy in winter or colder season. Heavy rods just seem to lose some feeling on real cold days. Heavy works well 3 seasons of the year but in winter the action ond vibration through the line to the rod just isnt there.

yes, most of the time, occassionally Ill flip it out to keep the line twist out.
