I was working for KGO during that time. I think a lot of us went through some post-traumatic stress.
First, we put in very long hours in the days and weeks after the quake. Second, many of us were personally impacted by it. And third, the building itself was on shaky ground and some of those aftershocks did elicit some panic. I remember diving under my desk for at least one of them.
Thanks for putting these old clips up...amazing to see them after all this time.

I remember this TV excerpt with Sydnie Kohara. She was really spooked by it. Yeah, I remember when this happened on the morning of the anniversary of the 1906 quake. I have the radio version of KGO radio when one of their sports anchors was doing a report. Boy, he freaked out the same way, Sydnie did.

I remember Brian Hackney on Newtons Apple on PBS back in the 1990's at the same time Brian Arrived at KRON 4

How long was this before Pete Wilson was sent to KRON4 and when did Richard Brown Take Pete Wilson anchor seat? I remember Richard Brown Co anchored ABC7 News with Anna Chavez in 1991 before Anna went to KPIX in 1992

I was eight at the time, and I distinctly remember just how much concern there was in the Bay Area over another earthquake. There was genuine worry among the locals that another large quake was going to occur for the next two years after 1989. Thankfully nothing happened...all these quakes afterwards were simply aftershocks.

Six months later. April 1990.
Compared to Loma Prieta, this earthquake was a wimp.
